My photo
Our life is full of wonderful, chaotic, blessed, hysterical, insane, magical, sad, scary, sweet, mind boggling, moments. While balancing life with 3 cherubs, parents, sisters, BIL, In-laws, 1 teaching career, and many good friends; I find that our life is moving far toooo fast. It is important to cherish and record the moments as we consistently try to balance our scale (God forbid I make a photo album)! MB

Antiquing

Must I remind everyone that it has been raining for what feels like a repeat of the original 40 days and 40 nights in the Bible. When raining this many days in a row (in reality about 2 weeks or so), moms must get creative. While cherub 3 had a birthday party to attend today, I decided to take the older cherubs on a new adventure. Antiquing.

We have been looking for a book shelf for cherub 1's room for a while. Her existing one is tiny and broken beyond repair. So, off we went with new goals. 1) Find a book case. 2) Teach the cherubs words such as unique, vintage, antique. 3) Have fun! Not showing my true feelings, I was a tad uneasy because cherub 2 is by far a TOTAL MAN SHOPPER. In other words, he hates shopping. Hates being in stores. Hates behaving in stores. Hates keeping his hands off breakables in stores. However, today, cherub 2 rose to the occasion. He thoroughly enjoyed checking out all the vintage items, including vintage toys.

Cherub 2 fell in love with a vintage pull toy with clowns that played the drums and symphony. He is coveting his new toy & being very careful of it's fragility. Cherub 1 just loved the experience and in the end, even though we did not find the perfect bookcase, we did have the perfect adventure.

P.S. I found Wizard of Oz mini-dolls for my future classroom! Yipee! (RLFs K&J~ how awesome is that?)

P.P.S. Here's a (blurry-whoops) pic of our 'tents' made tonight! Rainy day adventures!

How very brave of you on the antiquing with the kids! I can't tell you how many couch cushion forts we've constructed in the last month!

Headed here via Sarah and her Trenches.
